Having a clear vision is key to using technology to benefit your business, according to the head of IT at one of East Anglia's biggest holiday companies.
Karen Longdin, head of IT development and architecture at Hoseasons' parent company Wyndham Vacation Rentals UK, said business owners should not try to guess the next direction technology would take, but rather be clear on how they were going to make use of it.
Speaking during a Norfolk Network event in Norwich, Ms Longdin said: 'The very definition of digital disruption is that you cannot anticipate it. Today, technology is developing capabilities. It is how people choose to use those capabilities which shapes how it affects our lives.'
She added: 'You cannot anticipate what the world is going to do with technology but as long as you stay true to how you want your business to feel at the end of those changes, you can move with the ebbs and flows.'
