Keen cyclist Dawn Collyer speaks to Kate Scotter about her love of cycling as part of our Summer of Cycling series.
Name: Dawn Collyer
Age: 35
Lives: Norwich
Bike: Boardman Team CFI, affectionately known as Bodie
I love cycling because: I have always cycled since I was a child, cycling to the local stables to work for a free ride. Since then I have hobby mountain biked, and commuted to work. I then got myself a carbon road bike with the idea of doing triathlon and I have been in love with my Boardman ever since. I love getting the miles in, and riding consistently every week with a long ride I found my speed shot up. My bike takes me all over the place, entering sportives and meeting friendly cycle folk. Last year my bike took me from zero triathlon experience to Ironman finisher in a year. I don't think I would of gone to Sweden otherwise but it was beautiful. That Ironman bike ride around Kalmar, over the bridge and around the Island of Oland was so amazing, I barely stopped grinning. I seriously love my bike and am looking forward to taking it on more holidays for some epic adventures.
