Police have arrested and bailed a man in connection with an alleged 1.9m fraud at Bertrams Books near Norwich.

Bertrams, which is based at the Thorpe St Andrew Business Park, contacted police last year after it believed an employee fraudulently controlled a customer account.

Details of the investigation emerged after Bertrams' parent company Smiths News plc released its results in October.

A Norfolk Constabulary spokesperson said: 'We can confirm that officers from the Economic Crime Unit are investigating an allegation of fraud at Bertram Books in Norwich. One man has been arrested and has been released on police bail until March.'
