Loganair has reinstated its operations between Norwich Airport and Durham Tees Valley Airport and will provide a six-day service – primarily aimed for the region's energy sector.

Passengers from Norwich will also be able to remain on the same aircraft during a brief stop at Durham to fly onwards to Aberdeen, with both routes commencing on October 15.

The same-plane service will operate on six days per week, Sunday to Friday, and add Aberdeen to Loganair's network of flights from Norwich.

Loganair will establish a base at Durham, creating 12 jobs on top of the 25 pilots, cabin crew and engineers based at Norwich.

The new services will be operated by a 34-seat Saab 340B aircraft.

Flights from Norwich will depart at 4pm arriving in Durham at 5pm and then in Aberdeen at 6.20pm. Flights will leave Aberdeen at 1pm and will leave Durham at 2.20pm for the one-hour flight south to Norwich.

Kay Ryan, Loganair's commercial director said: 'It's fantastic to commence services on these two routes, acting as an important gateway for the region's energy sector.

'Our team has been working hard to build relationships with corporate and agency partners, which are essential to the long-term sustainability of the operation.

'For anyone looking to venture further north, the daily link to Norwich is by far the fastest way to travel between Aberdeen and the South East of England.'
