Since 2015, Great Yarmouth-based N-ERGISE has delivered best-in-class engineering and technical services to clients in the onshore and offshore sectors – both in the UK and overseas.

With a world leading in-house engineering and project management team supported by a vast number of directly-employed technicians – often in excess of 100-200 – the company offers a wealth of experience to the nuclear and renewables sectors, and also assists with various projects in the decommissioning, oil and gas and marine industries.

N-ERGISE has successfully exported its services from the east of England and Teesside for many years. It has worked on a number of German projects, including on several assets owned by the electrical transmission systems operator TenneT.

Most recently, it completed painting work on the company’s DolWin beta platform. The work included internal weld burn remedial paint repair, bridge landing repairs in multiple areas and coating repair of incomplete areas from a recent bridge landing scope. The repairs were performed using abrasive blast cleaning and mechanical preparation.

“We were able to react quickly, providing personnel and equipment to the platform located in German waters in time to meet the client schedule,” said Adam Tucker, head of business development and strategy. “We received positive feedback from the client and have since executed three additional scopes for them, with more works planned for later this year.”

Safety, people and sustainability are at the core of everything that N-ERGISE does. It has contributed over 500,000 man hours to several onshore and offshore projects, including prominent offshore wind projects, since 2015 – generating over £20m in offshore wind revenue and reporting zero HSE incidents to date.

It is also a member of RenewableUK, GENERATE – which has a large presence at Global Offshore Wind 2022 – and the East Wind cluster. The company became carbon negative in January 2021, offsetting over 20,000 tCO2e (tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent) since the start of last year. It is committed to further reducing its carbon footprint, protecting green areas and encouraging more sustainable habits, while supporting charities and local communities.

The company provides an array of specialist services to clients and prides itself on being able to offer a solution to any problem – from design engineering all the way through to delivery.

“We’re not simply a service company. We are a leader in engineering, technical solutions and problem-solving,” said Adam. “We always find the best way to solve an issue. That could be anything from a turnkey engineered solution to providing just a few people with the plant and equipment needed to get the job done.”

Here are just some of the services that N-ERGISE offers to clients operating in the onshore and offshore sectors.

Personnel supply

N-ERGISE’s human resources team ensures that multi-disciplined trade professionals with the right experience and expertise are selected for each individual project. From a team of engineers to a team of rope access welders required offshore, N-ERGISE can meet the client’s needs 24/7 with fast mobilisations.

Engineering

N-ERGISE’s experienced engineers can provide FEED studies, detail design, specialist technical services, technical support, technical integrity and HSE engineering support.

The company also has engineers available to survey and support client assets both onshore and offshore – including drone surveys, which are often a great way to reduce HSE risks, time and costs compared with traditional surveys.

Fabric maintenance

N-ERGISE provides a full range of fabric maintenance services including painting, scaffold and access solutions, rope access, insulation and lagging, specialist coatings and industrial cleaning.

From an inspection survey, N-ERGISE can advise on the most effective maintenance program to enhance the integrity and lifespan of a client’s asset. The company also has fabric maintenance teams available to support ad-hoc unplanned repairs and maintenance.

Electrical and instrumentation

N-ERGISE offers a complete range of electrical, control and instrumentation (EC&I) services from design, manufacture, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance through to end-of-life decommissioning.

The company’s EC&I personnel include IECEx and CompEx 01 – 04 certified technicians who can provide hazardous area inspection services to DSEAR compliance.

Decommissioning

N-ERGISE has become a market leader in the decommissioning market with experience of being involved with decommissioning multiple platforms in the North Sea.

The company recognises the need for a structured and well-coordinated approach to the whole decommissioning process, which gives operators a cost-effective and reliable solution that complies with their legislative commitments.

N-ERGISE can work with clients to develop their decommissioning program, starting with a FEED study onto developing the scopes right through to the offshore execution phase. Being strategically positioned on the east coast of the UK puts the company in a prime location to support North Sea decommissioning work. It can also offer laydown facilities for post removal work.

Project management

Project management is central to N-ERGISE’s success. The company has some of the energy industry’s most experienced project management specialists, with the skillset and expertise to deliver projects from concept stage through to execution.

Each project is managed in line with industry best practices, recognised project management frameworks and high standards set by the company.
