A celebratory garden party is being held to mark the anniversary of the opening of the spectacular Hoveton Hall Gardens 25 years ago.
The garden, which lies adjacent to the Broads near Hoveton, is well known for its magnificent magnolias, unusual species of trees and shrubs as well as its stunning vistas.
Money raised from the September 2 event will be donated to Age UK Norfolk which is also celebrating its 70th anniversary. Andrew and Barbara Buxton opened the property in 1992 to enable others to appreciate and discover the wide variety of plants, shrubs, trees and wildlife found in the formal gardens, lakeside settings and along its woodland paths.
Situated at the heart of the estate is the fine Regency house of Hoveton Hall – now family home to Andrew and Barbara's son Harry, his wife Rachel and their four young children.
The Garden Party with musical entertainment will be held in the formal walled Spider Garden starting at 2pm.
An afternoon tea with musical entertainment and speakers will take place while guests will have the opportunity to wander around the gardens at their leisure.
Visitors can also find out more about the history of the walled Victorian kitchen garden, a rare Victorian glasshouse and a Grade II listed 18th century ice well.
