One of Norwich's leading research centres has been flying the flag for UK science at an international event in Colombia.
Scientist from the Earlham Institute (EI) on Norwich Research Park have been at the International Environment Fair (FIMA) in Bogota, where the UK is the guest country, and links between the two countries are being highlighted.
It includes how UK-based academics are supporting science research in the South American country, and the Earlham Institute (EI) is profiling a £6.5m project known as 'GROW-Colombia'.
Colombia is the second most biodiverse country in the world, but its wealth of natural resources is threatened by commercial exploitation, the illicit drug trade and climate change.
At FIMA, EI is championing solutions to stimulate green growth in Colombia, and has organised events with Kew Gardens, the Natural History Museum and other Colombian partners.
