Business leaders have welcomed news that mobile phone provider Vodafone is rolling-out its 4G network in King's Lynn.

It means more businesses and residents with compatible devices and bundles will be able to connect to the internet quicker, more reliably and in more places than before.

The news has been welcomed by Heather Garrod, president of West Norfolk Chamber Council, who said: 'It's very welcome to the business community, as it gives them another method of connecting their businesses to the rest of the UK and overseas.

'One of Norfolk chamber's key campaign areas is to improve digital connectivity across Norfolk and whilst 4G is a step forward, ultimately the chamber wants to see 5G come to Norfolk.'

Dr Marie Strong, chairman of the broadband and mobile phones working group at Norfolk County Council, said she was delighted that more communities, private homes and businesses were being upgraded.

A Vodafone spokesman said Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Taverham and Wymondham already had 4G.
