Bus driver assaulted in Gorleston

POLICE are appealing for information after a bus driver was assaulted at a Gorleston bus stop.

It happened at the Crab Lane/ Pine Green junction between 9.35am and 9.40am on Saturday, March 17.

The driver - a man in his 50s - had stopped his bus, which had passengers on, when a man got on with a �20 note. The driver said he would not be able to provide enough change for that amount and the man then became verbally abusive. He was asked to get off the bus but repeatedly struck the driver before leaving.

Police need to trace the man involved and are asking anyone who saw the incident or anyone with information about who he is to come forward. If you can help please call PC Sally Morris at Gorleston on 101.
