Temporary traffic lights in Norwich caused rush-hour queues this morning (Wednesday) as workers tried to restore the water supply to nearby homes.

It is not known how many properties have been affected by the burst water main which was located by Anglia Water late last night at the junction of Bracondale, City Road, Queens Road and Ber Road.

This morning a spokesman said 'engineering problems' had led to workmen having to install temporary traffic lights on Bracondale.

The company said it did not know how long it would take to repair and about 40 householders – mainly on Bracondale Green – who were still without their supply had been provided with bottled water.

Anglia Water said most customers should now be back to normal although homes on Carrow Hill, Bracondale and Queens Road could experience low water pressure.

Anyone without water is asked to call 0800 145 145.
