Burglars target Corton church

Burglars broke into St Bartholomews Church at Church Lane, Corton, near Lowestoft, between 5pm on Wednesday, July 6 and 11am the next day and stole silverware, a pair of black speakers with handles on top and a 8ft long wooden bench.

Among the items of silverware taken were a communion plate, a chalice and four candlestick holders.

The burglars also took bottles of wine and beer that had been donated for a summer fete.

Police believe the bench would have taken two people to lift and officers are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area between these times to come forward.

If you have any information about the incident or those responsible please call PC 1765 Falgate at Lowestoft
