Police have named the man who died in a two-vehicle collision in Mettingham near Bungay on Friday.

Anthony Benson-Smith, aged 45, of Lowestoft, died at the scene following a collision between the green Ford Fiesta he was driving and a yellow Peugeot 107.

The incident happened on Friday just after 7am on the B1062 Beccles Road between Low Road and Tallents Loke.

The driver of the other vehicle, a man aged in his fifties, was taken to hospital for treatment. He suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Mr Benson-Smith was deputy headteacher at Bungay Primary School.

Floral tributes have been left at the scene over the weekend.

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward and in particular a dog walker who was seen in the area at the time. They may have information that could assist the collision investigation.
