The Royal Town Planning Institute's (RTPI) regional award for planning excellence went to the NPS Group on behalf of Broadland Growth Ltd.

Its Carrowbreck Meadow project involved the construction of 14 eco-friendly Passivhaus homes, including six affordable housing units, and creation of a community woodland on publicly owned land in the former grounds of Carrowbreck House.

Broadland Growth Ltd is a partnership between Broadland District Council and NPS Group, which is part of the Norse Group owned by Norfolk County Council.

A spokesperson from the RTPI east of England judging panel said: 'The project had many planning challenges to overcome and has successfully delivered something that is different and sets new benchmarks for sustainable development.'
