Six youth football teams in Breckland have signed up to a campaign that encourages people not to smoke pitchside when watching matches.
A total of 21 Norfolk clubs are involved in #Smokefreesidelines, with Breckland having the highest engagement with the scheme which hopes to prevent young people from becoming smokers.
Thetford Town FC, Dereham Town Youth FC, Thetford Rovers, Thetford Bulldogs, Litcham Youth and Harling Colts are flying the flag for the district.
The scheme was launched at the start of the 2017/2018 season by NHS Norwich Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Smokefree Norfolk and Norfolk FA.
Councillor Alison Webb, the Breckland's executive member for people and information, said: 'Smokefreesidelines is about promoting local football clubs as healthy and inclusive places, where youngster's wellbeing is the priority.'
