A major road in King's Lynn has been fully re-opened following a three car crash earlier today.

The crash at the Saddlebow Roundabout on the A47 happened at 11.20am and involved a blue Ford Focus Zetec, a silver Ford Focus and a bronze Renault Scenic.

Tailbacks quickly built up in and around Lynn as the emergency services raced to the scene following the crash.

Fire crews and a heavy rescue pump from King's Lynn and Downham market arrived on the scene quickly and rescued one person using hydraulic rescue equipment from the blue Ford Focus.

Two ambulances also took the occupants of the silver Ford Focus to the nearby Queen Elizabeth Hospital but it is still not known yet how many people were injured in the crash and what their injuries are.

Police officers closed off one lane leading to the roundabout and diverted traffic away from the scene. A recovery vehicle arrived just after 1pm and the road was fully re-opened at 2pm.
