Great Yarmouth MP Brandon Lewis opened his new office in the town last week – the building where the former Labour MP had his office.

The office in Church Plain was used by Tony Wright until his defeat by Mr Lewis.

Conservative MP Mr Lewis had previously had a base in the town, but took his office to Gorleston for several years before returning last week.

He said: 'I've returned to Yarmouth and this is the logical position for my political office, near to the Minster and the centre of the town.'

The Friday lunchtime official opening was attended by many business and political leaders from around the constituency and county, and in pride of place was a cake with the House of Commons logo on, baked and iced by volunteer helper Anne Redfern.

In the general election earlier this year Mr Lewis increased his majority by over 1,800 votes.
