Bradley Raper, from Scarning, near Dereham, was a season ticket holder at Carrow Road for 16 years and also went to many away games. He died following a car accident near Thetford at the age of 24.

Almost 25,000 supporters took part in a minute-long applause on the 24th minute of City's clash against Aston Villa on Tuesday, including Aston Villa fans, which was shown live on Sky Sports.

Mr Raper's aunt, Sara Greentree, said: 'We all watched it on the telly and have recorded it so we can watch it back again.

'It was a bittersweet moment. It was so humbling and so lovely seeing 25,000 people all clapping.

'Brad will be sitting up there so proud. So many people thought so much of him.'

Mr Raper's friend Jordan Cantwell and his brother, Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell, posted on Twitter to raise awareness of the applause.

Todd, who is from Dereham, joined in with the applause and also held up a shirt at the end of the game which read 'For you Brad'.

On Monday, Jordan Cantwell, who will be one of Mr Raper's pall-bearers, tweeted: 'In memory of my best friend Bradley Raper aged 24, it would mean everything to his loved ones to hold an applause on the 24th minute in tomorrow's game against Aston Villa (23/10/2018), to honour his recent passing. Please join us in making this happen.'

Todd shared the tweet and added: 'Guys, Brad served as a loyal season ticket holder for a 16 year period with his most memorable moments being in the playoffs at Cardiff and Wembley in 2015.

'Please spread the word to make this happen - it would mean so much to my brother and his family.'

Mr Raper's mother, Sallie Denmark, also tweeted after the game: 'Bradley was so blessed to have such wonderful friends. Never to be forgotten #flyhigh.'

The funeral for Mr Raper is on Friday, October 26 at St Andrew's Church in West Bradenham.
