The boss of a company which bought more than five acres of land in the enterprise zone in Great Yarmouth said he was confident development would be complete within the next few years.

Chaldean Properties bought the 5.85 acre site in South Beach Parade last March. It lies within the South Denes industrial zone next to the Outer Harbour. Last year land in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, including the Chaldean site in the South Denes industrial zone, was given enterprise zone status, which includes business rate relief, simplified planning regulations and superfast broadband.

Jack-up vessel firm Seajacks was the first company to move into a new headquarters with a warehouse and yard space. Garry Ellis, Chaldean's development manager said the company now had a further 3.2 acres which could accommodate about 60,000 sq ft of further development.

He said: 'Due to its prime location we are confident the entire development will be completed within the next few years which will be great news for us and for the Great Yarmouth economy.'
