Norwich bookshop wins regional award

A Norwich bookshop has won the East of England category in The British Book Awards’ Independent Bookshop of the Year awards.

The Book Hive, on London Street, was nominated this year along with Wymondham’s Kett’s Books and bookshops in Spalding and Bedford.

Despite being nominated for the East of England category on multiple occasions, The Book Hive had never manage to bag the big prize.

Until now.

They Tweeted their shock at finally winning and thanked all those who had supported them.

They also added “the paper bag is officially off Henry’s head”, referring to a video they posted following their nomination earlier this week.

Other winners included bookshops in Edinburgh, Hackney and Colchester.
