The winners, as voted for by Lowestoft Journal readers, were selected last month after hundreds of votes.

As part of the annual competition, hosted by this newspaper in partnership with Picture Studios, on London Road North, Lowestoft, the winning babies in each category were handed canvas prints.

Having claimed first place in the under ones category, youngster Hunter Hurren returned to Picture Studios to claim his prize with his proud parents.

Mum Lauren Hurren, alongside dad Luke, said: "I am very pleased he's won. He has grown a lot since the picture was taken, and he is just a happy chappy who likes his food.

"It is a lovely picture and a great surprise to win."

In the one-to-two years old category, 19-month-old Ella Willow Patrick was crowned as the winner, despite not appearing to be the happiest during her photoshoot.

Mum Chloe Bradshaw and dad Bradley Patrick said: "Someone refused to smile on the day, but that was the one that really made us laugh so we decided to use it.

"She has just turned 19 months and is constantly on the move. She never sits down."

First place in the over twos category was claimed by Bonny Babies veteran Brayden Jacobs-Potter, who turns three in December, after being entered into the competition by grandmother Nelly Oakley.

She said: "We're really chuffed to win. We have entered him a few times without winning but that is the luck of the draw.

"He is a very handsome young man and very clever. He loves pre-school and he is always talking about anything."

Lowestoft Journal chief reporter Reece Hanson said: "Once again we have been thrilled by the response to our Bonny Babies competition, and we're grateful to the team at Picture Studios for their help bringing it back for 2019.

"It has been wonderful to see so many people getting involved and we can't wait to see if any of this year's winners can reclaim the title next year."
