Police this morning said the human remains found in woodland close to a north Norfolk school were a middle-aged man.
The body was found by members of the public walking near Beeston Hall independent school at Beeston Regis, near Sheringham, yesterday afternoon.
The area, close to the busy Norfolk Coast Path, has been sealed off and forensic scientists are investigating.
Police said the cause and time of death were not known. The dead man, who has not been identified, was between about 35 and 65, a spokesman added.
