A body found at a north Suffolk nature reserve has been confirmed as that of a missing woman from Ipswich.

A police helicopter was searching the Walberswick nature reserve, near Southwold, when it found a white VW Golf.

The helicopter landed and the body of Nicola Duncan was found inside the vehicle.

Miss Duncan, 34, of Lancaster Road, Ipswich, was last seen on Tuesday, May 22, when she visited her parents' home in Cotton, near Stowmarket, and was officially reported missing on Thursday. The police made the discovery at about 9pm on Wednesday.

The coroner has been informed and police are continuing their inquiries, but say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Miss Duncan's family had become increasingly concerned for her welfare as she had only just been discharged from St Clement's hospital, where she had been an inpatient for seven weeks, being treated for depression.
