The money raised, which currently stands at nearly £1,400, will go towards prostate and testicular cancer research and men's mental health charities.

The 20-plus village team, included Red Hart pub landlord Lee Merritt, village postmaster Ruairidh Campbell, members of the parish council, organisers of the Rock Bodham festival and Dave Parks, winner of the north Norfolk heat of TV favourite 'Come dine with me'.

Money was raised through sponsorship, collection boxes, and a series of moustache-themed events in the village pub, culminating in a massive moustached party on Saturday November 30.

Local band The Naked Lights and DJ Hagster provided the entertainment, and Mr Campbell had his head shaved to raise extra money.

Landlord Mr Merritt said 'It has been a great month and has bought a lot of people together for a good cause. We set ourselves a really ambitious target but I know I speak on behalf of the whole team when I say we are proud to have achieved it.'

Callum Ringer, who is a parish councillor for Bodham added: 'It's been great to support a charity and also been great for our local pub, but I must admit I'm glad to be rid of the 'mo' this morning.' The team is already thinking about next year, but for now, the men are looking forward to a clean-shaven Christmas.
