Police are investigating after a number of thefts from boats moored at Somerleyton Marina last week.

Between Monday, February 4 and Thursday, February 7 at least eight boats were targeted at the marina in Brickfields, Somerleyton, with outboard motors and other items being stolen. A police spokesman said: 'It appears the offenders cut a hole in a fence to gain access to the site and then went onto a number of boats, causing damage to gain entry in several cases.

'Among the things taken were 11 red petrol/fuel containers, blue and yellow buoyancy aids, three black Mercury outboard engines, including one 15hp and one 8hp motor, almost 100 litres of petrol, an air horn, an echo sounder and a VHF radio.'
