A private boat has been "gutted" after a blaze on the Broads on Sunday.
The 45ft fibreglass vessel went up in flames on Sutton Staithe, at the end of Sutton Broad, just after 9.30am.
The owner was not on the boat at the time, no-one was injured and there were no other boats nearby.
Matthew Caston, from Norfolk Fire Service, said the blaze was not being treated as arson and started in the front of the boat, before it gutted the vessel.
He said: “The fire spread quite rapidly. We stopped it before it got to the fuel supplies.”
One concern was to protect the environment by stopping the boat from sinking.
Crews from Stalham, Martham, Carrow and Sprowston attended.
The fire was put out by 11.30am and work was then done by the fire service’s environmental protection unit from Sprowston, Environment and Agency and the Broads Authority to stop the boat sinking so the Broads was not contaminated.
