Documents which will shape the growth and development of Breckland have received support from council cabinet members.

The Local Plan proposals, which will set out polices used to determine planning applications, location of sites to meet housing, retail and employment requirements, will now go to full council on July 27.

If ratified there will be a six-week pre-submission period in August and September where the proposals can be reviewed by members of the public.

Councillor Gordon Bambridge, Breckland Council executive member for growth, said: 'This is our opportunity to shape future growth in Breckland to ensure that, as far as possible, future development meets the needs and aspirations of local people, and helps the district continue to prosper.'

Responses from the pre-submission will be collated and reviewed before the document is submitted to the Secretary of State.
