Firefighters from Gorleston have been kept busy dealing with two blazes in quick succession.

A crew from Gorleston were called out about 9.30am this morning (Saturday) following reports of a 'fire in the open' in the Fritton area.

A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said the crew used back pack sprayers to put out the flames.

And just before noon today, a crew from Gorleston tackled a fence and shed blaze on Whinchat Way, Bradwell.

The brigade spokesman said the crew used hand appliances, hose reel jets with water from a hydrant and a thermal image camera to check for hotspots as they quickly tackled the blaze.
