A community radio station in Diss returned to the airwaves yesterday and was officially reopened by ITV Anglia newsreader Becky Jago.
Officials at Park Radio spoke of their delight after the station was granted another short-term FM licence, which will run until June 4.
The former Newsround presenter and Capital Radio DJ helped officially relaunch the radio station, which aired in the Diss area for 28 days last Christmas.
Chris Moyse, one of the directors of Park Radio, said the station could apply for two short-term FM licences a year, but the long-term aim was a five year licence.
'We have to wait for Ofcom to invite us to apply and we are in the lap of the gods. We have got the petition of support that has been signed by 2,000 listeners from last time and we hope to build on that,' he said.
The station, which is being broadcast on 87.7FM, will this time grant Diss High School students a two hour take over slot between 7pm and 9pm every Tuesday. Diss auctioneer Elizabeth Talbot also has her own show on a Sunday night.
