A new event in Norwich is hoping to bring older people together and improve their fitness through table tennis.
Bat and Chat, hosted at the Ping Pong Parlour in Castle Mall, is aimed over the 55s. It is a social table tennis session with free tea and coffee.
The first session will launch on Tuesday April 17 and it will then take place every Tuesday between 1pm and 3pm.
Visitors are encouraged to come along, pick up a bat and have a good chat over a cup of tea. Both first-timers and professionals are welcome.
The health benefits of table tennis are said to include helping those with Alzheimer's and dementia. There are reportedly over 6.4 million people over the age of 55 who are inactive.
Robert Bradley, Centre Manager at Castle Mall shopping centre said 'This is just another brilliant way of us helping another key age group, by giving them a small bit of exercise and a place to come and have a social chat.'
