A homebuilder has teamed up with a school neighbouring one of its developments to teach pupils how to be safe around a building site.

Barratt Homes Eastern Counties invited youngsters from St Peter and St Paul's Carbrooke Church of England Primary Academy to its Knights Park site in Watton to see how homes are constructed.

Pupils donned hard hats and high-vis vests on a tour with site manager Tommy Luxton to teach them about the potential dangers of building sites. They also took part in a site safety poster competition with the winners being able to see their posters displayed at Knights Park. Kitty, 10, and Storm, 11, were among the children who saw their winning entries while visiting the site.

Barratt Homes sales director Jason Colmer said: 'It's incredibly important to us to teach children who live close to our developments about the dangers of building sites.'
