Emergency services are still the scene of the blaze in Stow Bridge, near Downham Market
Eight crews of firefighters from across the region have this afternoon been at the scene of a fire which has destroyed an agricultural barn.
Police have closed a section of West Head Road and are diverting drivers away from the blaze. Eye witnesses have reported seeing the smoke at least 10 miles away.
Neighbour Valarie Smither, of Low Road, said: 'I saw the sky filled with black smoke at around 2:30pm this afternoon.
'I counted seven fire engines rush past and the smoke was high up into the sky. I could hear the cracking of the fire burning away, and it's still going strong three hours later.'
Firefighters from Downham Market, Terrington, King's Lynn, Methwold Fakenham and Wisbech all attended the incident. It is believed nobody has been injured. A nearby hedge had also caught fire.
