A barman was bound and had his head covered by a gang of three masked men who stormed a Norwich pub and snatched thousands of pounds from a safe.

The attack happened at the City Gate pub on Dereham Road, Norwich, at around midnight on Friday.

The victim was approached by three men at the back door of the pub overlooking Barn Road. Detectives say he was overpowered, tied up and had his head covered while the attackers opened the safe and stole several thousand pounds.

Police, who say two of the three offenders spoke with Liverpudlian accents, are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the area at the time to come forward, of three people acting suspiciously in Barn Road. They also want to hear from anyone who may have heard of the crime through friends and associates.
