About 60 people flocked to the Pennoyer Centre in Pulham St Mary to watch Bake Off star Kate Barmby light up the village.

Mrs Barmby switched on the lights on the village Christmas tree tonight (Friday), also launching the Pennoyer's Beer and Gin Festival, which will be on all weekend.

Mrs Barmby, a nurse who who lives in Brooke, said: 'Someone asked me what the ingredients to a perfect Christmas were.

'I was going to say it's love and time, but now I think it's probably beer and gin.'

The festival is open Saturday from 11am to 11pm and Sunday from midday to 3pm.
