The top money-spinner in an annual Norfolk walk for a cancer charity will get a chance to drive a steam engine as a prize.

The Bure Valley Railway Walk is one of Macmillan Cancer Support's signature local events, and has special significance in its centenary year.

The charity is urging people to take part in the event April 9-10, which has 12 scenic routes available, each winding alongside the Bure Valley line between Aylsham and Wroxham, with a steam train ride to start off the day.

The person, over 18, raising the most funds will win a one day train driver experience, worth 225, donated by the railway, also celebrating an anniversary, its 21st.

Macmillan, which helps some of the 4,400 people across Norfolk diagnosed with cancer every year, is keen to hear from any would-be walkers. Call 01603 724 369 or register online at www.macmillan.org.uk/walk.
