A renewable heating firm benefitting from a surge in demand has opened an extension at its Attleborough site.

The new building at Finn Geotherm will house office space its new staff and a showroom for its heat pumps and recovery systems.

The company, which forecasts a turnover of £2m this year, has added two engineers and two sales managers to its roster, bringing the team up to 20 members, an increase of 25pc.

On Friday, MP for Mid Norfolk George Freeman was on hand to open the new space at the Deopham Road base.

Guy Ransom, Finn Geotherm's commercial director, said: 'This is a very exciting time for Finn Geotherm. We have seen our sales rise by an average of 40pc per year over the past six years, which is a record of which we are very proud.

'With new staff coming on board, the next step has been new offices and a brand new showroom, and we are all delighted and honoured to welcome George Freeman MP to help celebrate the next stage in our development by opening our new offices.'

The company, a finalist in the Rural Enterprise category of the EDP Business Awards, has carried out almost 500 heat pump installations, helping homeowners and commercial enterprises slash their heating costs and become more carbon-friendly.

Mr Freeman said: 'It is good to see such a fabulous business growing through vision, leadership and teamwork. This stunning project has been very well put together and you can sense the high quality and team ethos.

'The world is hungry for clean energy and today businesses and environmentalists share the same agenda to reduce their use of energy and resources. We need more innovative businesses in Norfolk and companies like Finn Geotherm are leading a renaissance in the county.'

Finn Geotherm is the UK's only approved installer of Finnish ground source systems from Lämpöässä.
