The Post Office branch based in Attleborough's High Street will be closing at 12.30pm for good on Saturday as it prepares to relocate to the nearby Londis store.

Customers will be able to use services at the Londis store from 1pm on Thursday, December 1.

Services will be provided from three counters – two fully screened ones and a Post Office service point by the retail counter.

The two main counters will be open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30pm. The service point will be open Monday to Sunday, 5am to 10pm.

It will mean there is an extra 68 hours a week of Post Office services, compared to the current branch.

A Post Office spokesman said: 'We are currently consulting on the plans to relocate this branch to Londis until 7 December.

'However, as part of our commitment to maintain Post Office services in the local area for our customers, especially at this busy festive time of year, we are re-opening the branch at Londis on Thursday, December 1 at 1pm.

'The new shop is currently having major internal work done, including extending into the back storage areas to increase the floor space. As well as a Post Office, there will also be a new Subway sandwich section.'

Alternative branches in the area during the temporary closure include:

Dodds Road Post Office, 32 Dodds Road, Attleborough, NR17 2HH

Wymondham Post Office, 39 Market Street Wymondham, NR18 0AJ
