Town councillors have organised a teddy bears' picnic for Saturday, August 5 from 1pm to 3pm at Queen's Square. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

On Saturday, August 12 from 1pm to 3pm there will be a showcase of the town's clubs and community groups. Those interested can arrange to take part by calling Tony Crouch on 07980 170278.

On Saturday, August 19, the town's emergency services will be on show in the town centre from 1pm to 3pm.

On Saturday, August 26 from 1pm and 5pm there will be a free tea party, children's karaoke, and a 'Bring Ya Bake Off' competition.

There will be two categories - cakes and cup cakes, with age groups of seven-11yrs, 12-16yrs and over-16s. Prizes will be given to the best in each group.

Sunday, August 27 between 1pm and 5pm will see musicians performing and groups promoting themselves around the town centre.

Throughout the bank holiday weekend the town's businesses, food suppliers and crafters promote themselves and their talent around the town centre for free. For more details call Mr Crouch or discuss with councillor Sam Taylor at the The London Tavern.
