The parents of a three-month-old boy were told that they could have done nothing to prevent their baby's death, an inquest heard today.
Petras Serva, who was born on August 3 2012, died at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on November 26 last year after being found unresponsive at his home in Ferguson Way, Attleborough.
Norfolk coroner William Armstrong recorded that the death was natural causes after a postmortem examination found that Petras died of sudden infant death syndrome.
The hearing at the coroner's office in Norwich heard that the baby was found unresponsive on November 26 and immediate assistance was sought. He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, but could not be resuscitated. The coroner expressed his sympathy to the baby's parents Antanas Serva and Roma Juknevicuite.
He said: 'This is desperately tragic for his parents. He was a much-loved and cared for little boy and nothing could have been done to prevent this tragedy.'
