Adults and children of all ages were inspired by Mr Foale’s incredible NASA career as they watched real-life footage of his journey into orbit and asked questions about his 373 days in space.

The 61-year-old was born in rural Lincolnshire and rose through the NASA ranks to become the most experienced British astronaut in the history of human space travel. During his career, he commanded the international space station, rescued endangered spacecraft with crew members on board, and was the first Briton to conduct a spacewalk.

The event took the form of a Q&A session organised by Pint of Science, in collaboration with the UEA Science Communication Society and hosted by the International Space School Educational Trust. Visit pintofscience.co.uk/events/norwich for more info.
