Three people arrested by Norfolk Police yesterday in connection with a series of armed robberies across Norfolk and the fens remain in custody today.

Two men aged 47 and 24, and a 44-year-old woman, were arrested at an address in Littleport, in a joint firearms operation with officers from Cambridgeshire Police.

It follows an armed raid by a gang of men in balaclavas on a bowls club in Weeting yesterday morning and robberies on homes and businesses in a number of villages including Northwold, Nordelph, Stowbridge, North Runcton, Elm and Wereham.

The arrests form part of an inquiry by detectives from Norfolk's Major Investigation Team (MIT), which has led the investigation into the armed robberies.

The trio are being questioned at separate police stations in Norfolk.
