Armed police were deployed to an address in Rollesby, near Great Yarmouth, today after reports a cleaner had been threatened with a knife.

Police were called just after 2pm after a Great Yarmouth Borough Council worker who was cleaning a block of flats in Rollesby alleged that he was threatened by a man in possession of a knife.

An armed response unit, including officers with tasers, later located the man at an address in Rollesby that he had returned to following the incident.

A control room supervisor said the man came out of the address unarmed and was arrested before being taken into custody so further inquiries could take place.

The supervisor added no weapons had to be used by police in the incident.
