It comes following research carried out by discount website My Voucher Codes, that revealed which clubs offer fans the best value for money, based on the number of league goals scored at each, against the money fans spend each match day to watch the games.

Each of the 92 clubs in the Premier and Football League were looked at, with Norwich City Football Club faring reasonably strong in the table - both in the Championships (5th out of 25 teams) and overall (31st out of 92 teams).

Robin Sainty, chairman NCFC Supporters Trust, said: 'I'm not too surprised. If you take away the Leeds and Preston games, our home form has not been that bad. When Norwich City play well, they do tend to score the goals.

'It's nice to have some good news like this for the club. It's been a long, miserable winter but hopefully now - with a couple of goals, fresh momentum and new players - things will pick up.'

In the research, Nottingham Forest offered the best goal value in the Championship, with fans paying just under £9 a goal. Lancashire club, Blackburn, trailed closely behind by offering fans a goal for just over £9. While St Andrews, in Birmingham, cost fans just £9.23 per goal.

At the other end of the scale, with only 30 goals scored at Elland Road this season, Leeds fans are paying £20.20 per goal, outspending Derby County in second (£17.44) and Ipswich Town in third (£17.01).

The discount site MyVoucherCodes.co.uk looked at all 92 grounds in the Premier League and Football League, detailing the number of league goals scored so far at each and the total cost for fans attending these games, to reveal which grounds offer the best value per goal.

The information is taken from the BBC's The Price of Football Index and The Football Ground Guide and has used the latest data from up until the end of January.
