Police investigating an incident on the A144 between Halesworth and Bungay in early January are appealing for help tracing the driver of a small, dark-coloured sports car.

A lorry was being driven along the A144 at Stone Street around 4.40pm on January 7 when the it was overtaken by the sports car – possibly a Mazda or a similar make.

The car stopped in front of the lorry and the lorry driver overtook the car. The car then overtook again, pulling in front of the lorry, causing the driver of the lorry to brake sharply, but he could not avoid a collision.

The driver of the sports car got out to speak to the lorry driver but the car driver took the keys from the lorry cab before leaving in the damaged car.

Anyone who can help police trace the sports car or the drive should call PC Michelle Stimpson at Halesworth on 101, quoting crime number 11126/16.
