Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Stokesby.

The incident happened at some point between 8am on Sunday, December 11 and 9am on Monday, December 12.

St Andrews Church on Runham Road has been broken into causing damage to the door and lock.

Although items inside the vestry had been moved, nothing was taken.

St Andrew is a Norman church, but has been added to and repaired over the centuries so that not much survives of its Norman origins. There was a big restoration in the late 1850s.

The church is a Grade II* listed building, the second highest rating, meaning it is a 'particularly important building of more than special interest.'
