More than 80 competitors from 14 businesses helped to boost worthy causes as a popular charity event was hailed a success.

Staff at the Halesworth office of accountants, business advisors and financial planners Lovewell Blake organised the charity tenpin bowling evening, which raised more than £5,000 for good causes.

The annual event saw Loddon company GS Computers triumph, with a raffle and auction on the night – with prizes donated by local businesses – helping to boost the total raised along with generous match-funding from Barclays Bank.

The money raised will go into Lovewell Blake's LB150 Fund, which every year gives grants to charities and community organisations across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Event organiser Matthew Waters, of Lovewell Blake's Halesworth office, said: 'Our annual tenpin bowling event has become an opportunity to bring together local businesses to have fun, enjoy friendly competition, and raise funds for some of the region's smaller charities and community projects.

'We are very grateful for the continued support from the teams taking part, the local business community for donating prizes, and the Lovewell Blake staff who organise the event.'

The evening was once again hosted by Rob Mayes-Smith and his staff at Richardson's Family Bowl in Lowestoft, who also generously donated four novelty skittles which were auctioned off at the end of the evening.
