The bi-annual book sale in Hilgay is not an event for any bookworm to miss, especially as it raises vital funds for charity.

Village butchers Ali and Des Dent have been running the book and yard sale for over 30 years, attracting hundreds of people from all over Norfolk to Hilgay Village Hall.

This autumn, proceeds from the event will be going to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Many people know cousins Ali and Des Dent from the raft races and book sales they organise twice a year, raising more than £100,000 for local charities.

The book sale opens at Hilgay Village Hall from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, October 15, with the yard sales in the village running at the same time.
