Plans for an ambitious programme which will maintain existing events and introduce new activities in Fakenham have been announced.
Active Fakenham announced the new plans at a consultation this month, which comes after many of the town's previous events ceased to take place.
Kickstart Fakenham and FABCOM (Fakenham Area Business Community) have both folded in recent times and events such as the Fakenham Fair no longer take place.
Active Fakenham chairman Richard Crook said: 'Active Fakenham is now putting together an ambitious programme that will include a large marketing campaign to shore up existing activities as well as introducing new activities for 2019.
'It was agreed that things are getting more difficult, however an ambitious and exciting programme was planned.'
Active Fakenham is behind the Get Active in Fakenham Week, which takes place every year and includes a number of free or discounted events and taster sessions, as well as a free music festival.
The new programme of activities will look to grow the Get Active in Fakenham Week as well as the Easter Funday.
A number of new events are also planned which would include photo competitions, cycle safety workshops, talks from nationally recognised speakers and professional theatre.
Mr Crook added: 'As well as this we are looking at building resources such as post cards and calendars of the town, a photo, video and audio resource and maybe even a Fakenham loyalty card to support local trade and promote special offers.
'This will be the basis of a bid to the North Norfolk District Council Market Town Initiative.'
Fakenham has also seen the closure of sports facilities in the town, with both school swimming pools closing in 2014 which haven't reopened despite a 2015 report into indoor leisure facilities in North Norfolk identifying a need for a pool in the town.
North Norfolk District Council is currently investing £10.7 million into replacing Splash in Sheringham and £3.2 million into a new tennis hub in Cromer, with a view to include satellite tennis facilities in Fakenham and Wells.
In a draft proposal for the Market Towns Initiative, Mr Crook wrote: 'We are confident this project will revive some of the things lost and create new activities and resources to benefit both locals and visitors.'
Full details of Active Fakenham's proposal will be revealed in November.
