Firefighter spent much of today (Sunday) at a blaze in a barn in a south Norfolk village.

Crews were first called out at 12.38pm to the site at Nicholas Corner, in Alpington, between Framingham Earl and Brooke.

Initially just two appliances from the Carrow station in Norwich and Loddon but further help was then requested.

Water carriers were also sent from Earlham, Hethersett and Fakenham. At 1.15pm, crews asked for a structural engineer to attend. The stop message, indicating the fire was under control, came in at 2.52pm but one engine, from Long Stratton, remained on the scene into the evening.
