Police were called to Dereham town centre today following a call out to an alarm activation.
They received the call at 8.10am this morning to the former Jobcentre Plus building on High Street.
The building is currently unoccupied.
Officers managed to stop the alarm at about 8.30am.
A spokesman for Norfolk police said the reason for the alarm being activated is currently unknown.
Jobcentre Plus moved to its new premises at Breckland District Council Offices at Elizabeth House, off Walpole Loke, Dereham, last February.
