A man in his late 70s was airlifted to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital after falling seriously ill at a GP surgery in Great Yarmouth.

Police were on hand today to help the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), crewed by Dr Marcel Riguad and critical care paramedic Ben Caine, get close to the surgery on Yarmouth's busy seafront. Eventually, the helicopter landed in a crowded seafront car park.

A spokesman for EAAA said the man, who had taken seriously ill during the medical incident, was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
